Guilty Pleasures

I am sitting here watching Jersey Shore, yes judge all you want but my husband and I love this ridiculous show. We can't get enough of the bad spray tans and fist pumping, it is definitely a guilty pleasure of ours. I also can't get enough of

• The Real World, and the challenges
• OK, reality TV in general
• People Magazine
• Pepperidge Farm Soft Baked Cookies
• Wine, and wine nights
• Sappy Movies
• Riding alone in my car so I can blare the music
• Friends, the show
• Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory

This is definitely a short list to which I know I can add to, but sitting here watching this show just made me think of the little things in life that I love, ie trashy TV haha  Anyway, I need to post a photo because well it's always more interesting when you do. So here is a flower that my parents have growing in their back yard, I didn't do any editing to it, it is SOOC, but I still love it, and it is purple - my favorite color. Enjoy!

In a Yellow House - Urban

Black & White Wednesday - All About Music

Of course I have another black and white photo to share this week over at The Long Road to China for Black and White Wednesday. I took this photo while in Colorado, I forgot I had it but it is one of my favorites. I wish I knew the name of this artist, but I just love how this shot turned out.  We were at a music festival in Steamboat Springs and this year the tribute artist was Lee Ann Womack. So one afternoon during the week long concert, there is a tribute concert where various musicians that are there collaborate and put on a concert and sing her songs, it was pretty awesome, and only about 100 people could go. I actually got to meet her, she tweeted me too - yes my little claim to fame!

Shutter Love Tuesday - Sports

It is Shutter Love Tuesday at Trendy Treehouse once again, and I love the theme - Sports! I have grown up playing sports. I started playing soccer at 3-4 years old and I still play, I also played Volleyball, Softball, and Swimming. My husband and I play slow pitch softball together as well, we love sports so much that we had our wedding reception inside the old train station of the Houston Astros ballpark. My dad and I are headed to the MLS All-Star game against Manchester United on Wednesday night and I wanted to get a photo them, but the sports week came a week early haha! Well here is my entry anyway, enjoy!

Absolute Favorite - Bentley

Yes I am fully aware of how many photo challenges I have been doing, but they have been fun, and I have enjoyed seeing other bloggers photos as well. So I have seen this blog - The Paper Mama - on a few other blogs I follow, so I am going to enter a photo in her contest. The theme is "Absolute Favorite" but of your child, so she said animals count (which I totally think they do) so here is a recent photo I took of our fur baby Bentley.

Fix It Friday

Here are my edits, both done in CS

I flattened before I could see the steps I used for this edit...oops I used 2 different actions from Totally Rad Actions, then edited the tree out in the background and made a few adjusments to the contrast

...and a black and white because I just love black and white photos

I upped the brights in this one then ran Bitchin' BW then added an antique tone and dropped the opacity a bit

What Makes You Laugh?

I love to laugh, and I think my laugh is pretty contagious...so I have been told. On a daily basis I laugh, with others, at others (not in a mean way of course), and of course at myself. What makes me laugh?

•  My Family - we are an eclectic mix, never a dull moment
• "That's What She Said" it's bad really, I will say it to myself in my head and bust out laughing
• My husbands ridiculous voices and jokes, I try not to laugh but I can't help it
• Our cat...and this photo that most of you have seen

•   ..and his love for shoes

 

• The pothole commercial...you know the {spoken in a very high southern accent} "ohhh no did I do that?" "I'm just a pothole...k bye!"
• My husbands Halloween costume...can you guess who he is??

 

• Entourage, The Office, and Friends {I think anything can be related to an episode of "Friends"}
• My friends

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what makes me laugh. What puts you in a good mood or makes you burst out in laughter? I really believe that laughter is the best medicine! Anyway have a great weekend, I am going to enjoy the last 3 days I have at my job before the next adventure begins!

 

Wee Bit {about me} Wednesday

This "wee bit Wednesday" came across my blog rool a couple of times today and definitely caught my interest...so I will jump on the bandwagon and participate!





So here is a wee bit about me...

1.If you could go on a road trip anywhere with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and where would you go? I would go with my husband, and maybe drive up the coast in California and go to a ton of wineries - that would be more for my benefit than his, so if we came across a brewery we would dtop there too

2.If you were stranded on a desert island, which one person would you bring with you? My husband

3.What's your earliest memory? In pre-school I remember we had to collect various things out on the playground, or just outside, or {clean} trash, and we painted it and made this HUGE rainbow out of it in our classroom

4.What's the best advice you've ever received? Do not live beyond your means - my parents tell us this all the time, I am not sure if it is advice but it works for me...and Don't burn bridges, you never know when you will need that someone later in life

5.If you could have an endless supply of food, what would you get?
Can I just lump desserts into that? Yes I would love endless desserts, with no calories please

6.Would you rather be a famous musician or a famous actor? I would say musician, I played the piano for 10 years so maybe I remember a note or 2...althought my parents and husband say I am a bit of an "over dramatic" so acting might work for me too haha

7.If you could be a star athlete in any sport, which would you choose? Everytime my husband and I watch Remember the Titans I always tell him that I want to play football, he says I would break every bone in my fragile body, so I would go with soccer since I have played since I was 3

8.If you were offered the job of u.s. president, would you take it? Could I just live in the White House without the responsibilities?

9.Would you rather have the ability to fly or the ability to breathe underwater? Ooooo I don't know! I would probably say fly, but then I love water! Next question please....

10.What music are you listening to today? A very ecclectic mix on my iPod - anything from the Glee soundtrack to Eminem

Black and White Wednesday - Boot Scootin'

Black and White Wednesday at The Long Road to China is here! I took this photo last weekend while we were in New Braunfels, my wonderful friend Barbie thought it would be fun to dance on top of the coffee table in our condo. Everyone loves a shoe shot, so here ya go - Barbie boot scootin'.....on the furniture. Hey it was her party, she could do what she wanted!

In a Yellow House - Landscapes

The theme at In a Yellow House is all about landscapes. I took this photo while we were on vacation in Steamboat Springs, CO. We saw this part of the mountain after we took the gondola up to the very top, this was behind the ski lift - even higher up. I hate the cold weather but it is absolutely beautiful there and I would definitely go back

Shutter Love Tuesday - Faces

It is Shutter Love Tuesday at Trendy Treehouse again, and this weeks theme is all about "faces." Here is my nephew once again. My sister (his mom) first saw this photo and wished his pacifier was not in his mouth, but then realized it showed him in true fashion - with messy hair and his te-te (pacifier) in his mouth.

I {Heart} Faces

I have not submitted a photo for I Heart Faces in a few weeks, but this weeks challenge is Over My Head. This is a photo of my adorable nephew, Evan from when we were babysitting him. I think he is throwing up the OK sign because me and his Uncle were doing a fantastic job babysitting him - or he was just really happy that we gave him french fries. Either way, here he is, with his teddy and sporting one shoe.

Ch-Ch-Ch Changes...

...are on the horizon for me and I could not be more excited! No I am not pregnant, which seems to be the reaction when I have been saying "I have news!" My news is that I will be starting a new job in T-minus 2 weeks! Wednesday afternoon I put my notice in, which was a very difficult, but my husband and  I know that this is the right thing to do. I have been at my current job for 4 years. I went through being engaged, planning our wedding, getting married, and purchasing a home. I have made some of the best friends there, that will continue to always be in my life, but it was time for a change, time to grow and see what else I can do. I am excited to see what my new job brings me, and where it takes me, and my husband.  My new title: Marketing Communications Coordinator...fancy huh?? haha

Since I am in a happy place right now, I will share a photo that makes me happy!
