Black and White Wednesday - Guitar

I did not have a new black and white photo to share this week, but I did find one that I had not shared before. I took this back in March when my girlfriends and I went to Austin for an acoustic show with some of our favorite Texas Country artists. I would love to be able to experience every concert with just about 100 people in an intimate setting - great show and great music

Shutter Love Tuesday - Something Blue

When I saw the theme for this weeks photo challenge at Trendy Treehouse I immediately thought of "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." My "something blue" was a little bow on the inside of my garter - and I do not have a photo of that, sooooo with that being said you get to see another photo of Bentley - I know you are excited right??  This is one of his favorite spots - cozied up in our clothes.

Goodbye Summer

Is it really almost October? The temps are starting to drop, well to mid 80's, which is nice since we have been over 100 lately, and the pumpkin spice latte is back at Starbucks! But, I am one of the crazy people that love the summer weather, bring on the heat, now humidity is another story. Humidity is just evil. I live for time at the river and lake, or any body of water really, and I loathe the cold weather. I will miss you Summer!

I am however excited that another Photo Hunt Challenge will be coming up, which means you have about a week left to go vote for your favorites. I made it to the voting round in a few categories, go check it out and vote for up to 3 of your favorites in each!

Wishful Lamb - Cool Cats

I am completely aware that I have shared this photo a number of times, but let's face it, it is seriously the funniest picture.  Most of you know the back story to this photo - my husband thought it would be a good idea to give him a bath. I told him, well it's all you if you want to take on that challenge. As soon as he made this face I made my husband keep holding him while I grabbed the camera. He looks so pissed, and mean - and that is the opposite of his character. He really is the biggest wuss there is, but he is pretty much the coolest cat, I mean he fetches...can't get much better than that!

Black and White Wednesday - Rose

Here is my submission for Black and White Wednesdays at The Long Road to China. I took this photo while we were at my husbands parents house last weekend. I actually used the color version for my POTW and decided to see how it would look in black and white. I think it is still a little gray but overall I am pleased with the shot. I am sharing both, which do you prefer?

Shutter Love Tuesday - CAKE!

What is there not to love about cake? Wedding cake, Birthday cake, Cupcakes? There are very few cakes that I do not like - sorry italian creme, you are not on my favorite list. I looooved our wedding cakes, and my husband who does not eat sweets very often STILL talks about his cake, we have argued about who's tasted better - I sooo think mine did. Here is what our wedding cakes looked like, although I did not take these photos I thought I would share anyway

I was going to enter this one since I did make this cake and I did take this photo. This is the only cake I have ever made from semi scratch. I was quite proud of it, and it tasted delicious if I do say so myself

but I have already shared this photo, and I wanted to share something new...

So here is my cake entry for Shutter Love Tuesdays at Trendy Treehouse. These were some of the cupcakes and the cake for my nephews 2nd birthday a couple weeks ago. My sister did not like the way they came out, but they sure did taste good, and I am sure Evan did not notice!

Before and After - Soulmates

Labor Day weekend my husband and I were in our wonderful friends Barbie and Peter's wedding. They got married on September 5 at the gorgeous Hotel ZaZa. I felt a little awkward bringing my camera to the wedding since obviously I am not the photographer, but I snapped a few shots anyway. At this particular hotel you have the option to be introduced by coming up through the floor which is awesome, so here they are being introduced as the new Mr. and Mrs.!

Here is my before and after submission at Pixel Perfect:

Black and White Wednesday - Balloons!

For Black and White Wednesday over at The Long Road to China I am sharing another image from my nephews 2nd birthday. Right before I was walking out of the house to leave I hear my mom and sister yell to me "get the camera!" So I grabbed it out of the bag and went to the dining room to find that Evan had wrapped himself in all his balloons and was walking around the house - it was seriously the funniest thing I had ever seen. All you saw was this cluster of balloons and ribbon...and little feet hanging sticking out of the bottom. If you have seen  the movie "Up" - he was like the house, I was waiting for him to get carried away. Oh and if you haven't seen "Up" see it, it is fantastic!

I Heart Faces - Vroom Vroom

It has been awhile since I have entered any photos over at I Heart Faces, but when I saw the theme this week I knew exactly which photo to submit. I have shared this photo before, but I think it fits the theme perfectly.

Punk Rock Friday

Since I was lagging in challenges this week, and I woke up convinced that it was Thursday...I am going to enter in The Punk Rock Mom's photo challenge. The theme is All the Small Things. You can enter up to three photos, so I am going to duplicate my earlier post and enter Evan's friendly little lizard, my macro that I submitted for the photo hunt challenge (which I made it to the voting round in that category, if you like it go vote here for #12), and Evan's shoes, because well baby feet are small. Enjoy!
