Weekend Fun

on Friday I painted my nails and had the whole evening to myself - so nice!

Saturday I had a FULL day of mini sessions and I cannot get over the cuteness. I shared a shot from the back of me camera on Saturday after the first session. Hellooooo Starbucks I have your next ad!

Back of camera:

The edit:

I came home and headed back out again for Savanah's bachelorette party. Here is one photo, I will let her share the rest!

Sunday morning I woke up and met one of my most wonderful friends who was in town from NC. I did their family photos in the AM...

then we had the whole day to ourselves. We shopped, brunched, and of course we indulged in a cupcake.

Sunday evening I was bound and determined to start the Christmas tree, it started out like this...

and here is how it is coming along, nowhere near done but I am loving it so far!

Saw It, Pinned It, Revised It...

Saw it. Pinned it. Revised it.

Yeah, I tend to not follow instructions and do things the way I want it. Either it turns out great or it’s a major fail.

Most of my crafts that I have done from pinterest have all been revised to my liking. Wreaths, Glitter pumpkins, this craft, etc… I like to put my own spin on it.

So I am pretty much a Christmas decor-aholic - ooooo new word!

While on one of my basically weekly trips to Hobby Lobby I picked up the bells and this week I picked up candles. I could not find a tray like the one pictured at the good ol Hob Lob so I just figured I would try somewhere else.

I got home last night and realllllly wanted to start putting out more decorations and reallllllly wanted to put this little centerpiece together for our coffee table, but crap I don’t have the tray and my candles are not in glasses. What’s a girl to do??

SO I came up with the brilliant idea of just arranging it like so on one of my silver chargers….and VOILA!

Oh I also made that fab burlap runner, and by made I mean I bought burlap and cut it and put it on the table...

No glue gun or burnt fingers here!

Happy Holidays!!

I am a Color Runner...

I am a Color Runner…

Not to be mistaken for a REAL runner, which I am not.

The Color Run, which is dubbed “The Happiest 5K on the Planet” is a 5K run, walk, jog, dance… and every so often you are covered in different color paint.

This was the start line....and we were in the LAST wave. They were playing some kick ass tunes while we waited and throwing beach balls and frisbees so the waiting was not all bad

Check out the video, you can totally get a vibe of how it was. They also played music at each paint station too

Blue, Orange, Pink and Yellow.

No it is not liquid paint – it was more of a ground down chalky substance, which FYI tastes gross.

The only requirements are to have fun, and wear a white shirt….and any other crazy thing you can find – we just went with crazy socks.

I brought my phone through the run because we wanted some fun photos - clearly we took thi race seriously

With your registration packet they also give you paint to hold until your get to the finish line, it looks something like this…

Of course when we crossed the finished line we needed victory photos...

 ...and a victory beer. Duh.

I also totally judged those who were not covered in paint.

Definitely doing this race...err fun run again. I am actually doing the "Graffiti Run" in December - same concept, can't wait!

This Weekend...

This weekend I….

Went to dinner with Oh Hey its J while she was in town and met some new friends

Also while I was waiting on said friends I saw a flash mob proposal – small mob but adorable nonetheless!

Saturday hubs and I went to my nephew’s soccer game, and they got trophies! I totally miss trophies…

We also mailed off my passport so my name can get changed on it before we leave for MEXICO!!

Sunday was filled with paint and soccer!

The Color Run was Sunday morning and super pumped the weather held off. Such a fun race. If you have not head of it, it is a 5K race where you get paint thrown on you. Sounds like fun right?!?! I am really excited now for the Graffiti Run we are doing in December.

Sunday afternoon was filled with one last Dynamo game, and they capped it off with a WIN! I will have to cheer them on at home when they hopefully bring the MLS Cup back to Houston!

I was exhausted Sunday night and spent the evening in bed…with a bowl of Blue Bells Christmas Cookie ice cream. BUY IT.

More on the Color Run too...because I have awesome photos to share
