Saw it, Pinned it, Did it

Linking up for

Help Me. I’m Poor!

You have been living under a rock if you do not know what this line is from.

Only one of the most epic wedding movies ever.

My co-worker’s and I reference this line multiple times a week and one actually sent me this photo that the line had been screened onto a tee shirt. She also informed me that it was $28.
Source: jaymug.com via Emily on Pinterest

What poor girl can afford that for a shirt?

So in the spirit of her birthday that was last week I went to the good ol Hob Lob and picked up some iron-on letters and a tee.

FYI. I did not iron on the apostrophe backwards..

Total cost: $10
Result: Best gift ever.

Wine-O

I like my wine just as much as the next person but I also do not like paying high dollars for my bottles.

If you like bubbly this is one of my absolute favorites and my go-to for bubbly - I drink it alone or mixed with OJ for a delish mimosa.  A bottle is around $13 which is worth it in my eyes.
 La Marca Prosecco

For something a little sweeter hubs and I love Martini and Rossi Asti. This bottle has all the bubble and not the dryness. Hubs like sweeter wines so this is the perfect medium for us. This bottle retails around $12
and hey If I am making some frozen or not so frozen mimosas, the $6 bottle of Andre works perfectly, or if you want to feel a little fancier but do not want to pay the price Jaume Serra Cristalino makes you think you are drinking Cristal...we will call it the knock off version which also retails for about $6 a bottle. Can't afford Cristal so I went with the Cristalino!

Whites...and not so bubbly
I do not favor Sauvignons over Pinot Grigios over Moscatos  - I do not play favorites, I am an equal opportunist when it comes to wine. I do play favorites when it comes to taste - no dryness please. These are my favorites - at bargain prices which is even better.

Nobilo - Sauvignon Blanc - retails for $9 to $13. Has a hint of pineapple and grapefruit - YUM!

Casal Garcia is my favorite bargain buy at around $6 to $9 (Serve very cold, or if you can't wait throw some cubes in, no judging here!)  This is the perfect little glass of fun on a hot day...or any day

I discovered this bottle at a wine tasting at a friends and was a staple in our fridge for awhile. Starborough Sauvignon Blanc - it has a tropical fruit taste. So pick this bottle up for about $9 pour a glass and pretend you are on the beach.

I am not the biggest fan of reds, but I have come across a couple recently that I have really enjoyed. These are not dry, like I mentioned before I don't care for dry, only if I am making sangria.

Cummins Road - Pinot Noir - This one is a tad pricier - around $18 to $22 but great to pick up as a gift.

The Chateau St. Jean 2010 is my recent favorite that has gotten me into liking reds. This Merlot retails for around $10. Flavors of blackberry and chocolate? Yes please.

Yellow Tail is a great go to - I have tried most of these and not been disappointed. They retail for around $5 to $7 and gets the job done

Menage A Trois is another budget friendly wine that retails for around $10 to $12

If you are feeling particularly fancy then I would pick up some Two Buck Chuck at Trader's Joes. We just got one in the area so I had to pick up a few bottles. Retails for $2.99 - great on the wallet!

There are a few others that I did not add, but what are some of your favorites? Cheers!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

It has been a LONG time since I have done a Scavenger Hunt Sunday with Ashley - I really want to try and get back into these, since photography has taken off I have not taken the time to appreciate the little random things in life that we photograph  - so let the creative juices flow and take a look at my interpretation of the prompts.

1. Lace - Ok so this is not really lace, but burlap has a "lacy feel" to it right? Well it does in my book

 2. Bling - This is my favorite necklace, hubs got it for me last Christmas  - I love, love, love it

3.  Wood - This is the fence in our back yard, we have horse shoes back there and apparently this is where they are stored

4. Fuzzy - My fuzzy and warm Uggs!

5. Felt - This is part of Bentley's Christmas stocking...some, ok most of the decorations may still be up...don't judge!

I really hope to be back next week, although we may be in New Orleans for Super Bowl weekend..have a great week!!

Fun Facts

The Facts of Me

I have done the If you really knew me…. post but thought I would play along with this one and link up with Whitney because I want to

My Birthday is on Christmas Eve – every year my parents get me a cake and my sister is convinced they favor me more because of this reason. I think they favored her more – helllooooo she got to go to Egypt, Venice, - and a bunch of other countries while I was at Grandmas, AND live in England

I did not try ranch dressing until college, and I hated it. I don't have a ranch hatred anymore

I have never had a cavity, but I did have braces but I screwed that up and did not wear my retainer consistently

I am half Cuban and half Cajun with the spitfire attitude that comes with it

I hate cleaning – with a passion - but if guests are coming over the house will for sure be spotless. Laundry also falls under this whole cleaning thing, 99.99999% of the time there is a clean load of laundry just begging to be folded. I say this is what the dryer is for.

I have 2 tattoos; I don’t hate the one on my back but would like to get it covered with something else – like a fleur de lis. I also got my tongue pierced in college because everyone else was doing it, it didn’t last for more than a year if that

I have gotten into a physical altercation...ok more than once to defend a friend. I hold my friends close and if you mess with them I will stick up for them until the day I die.

I will reheat my coffee more than once. I also usually reheat my food whenever we pick it up even if it is still kind of hot.

I am not a pretty sandwich eater...hubs will always make the statement that it looks like a bomb went off on my plate

I would much prefer to go to the hill country and float the river than go to a club

Our cat Bentley will in fact turn you into a cat lover

As a kid I would always find some way to get myself out of being grounded – I would literally draft up contracts and propose them to my parents.

I love Spanish music and I will sing it like I know the words...I do not know Spanish

When I was in elementary school my BFF Rae-Anne and I decided that we wanted to have a clubhouse…so we grabbed some paint it ended up spilling EVERYWHERE. We tried to clean it up with the hose. Let’s just say it was like mixing oil and water together. It got all over the house, the pool, the broom, and us – yes we tried to sweep it out. There is STILL evidence of this mishap. Our parents were pissed! We got in trouble and had to walk around with white paint in our hair.

There are a few fun facts about me!

and hooray for getting to 200 followers, I know it is not much but I will take it.
Giveaway soon? I think so

How Has it Been Four Years?

Four Years Ago today...

I was waking my 2 good friends up extremely early because it was my wedding day and I could not sleep - hello excitement!!

I tipped the hotel dude that brought us breakfast $20 because I could not find any change

I hand a minor melt down because I could not find the address to my hair and makeup girls studio that was a mere 1.2 miles away

My mom handed me half a muscle relaxer to help me calm down
 Can you spot the bottle?

Two of my bridesmaids searched my car only to realize I did in fact leave my bra that I was supposed to wear with my dress at home

I wore my moms most amazing hand made in Spain lace mantilla

Nine (with our house party and ushers) amazing girls and guys stood by us on our most perfect day

One of our groomsmen forgot his tux in a city that is 3 hours away and hunted down a Men's Warehouse and BOUGHT a whole new tux so he would not let hubs or I down

I stood at the end of a very long aisle in a very full church nervous as everything and had my cousin tell me a joke so I would not cry - ya'll I was NERVOUS!

I made it to the end of that aisle and saw my soon-to-be husband hold back tears, don't worry I was holding them back too, you can totally see it through the whole video

We became husband and wife

 Two families became one

Hubs stepped on my veil as we got introduced and nearly ripped the whole thing off my head

We had an amazing day with family and friends inside of a ballpark

We danced our first dance

Hubs led a conga line

We cut our first cake

Hubs became an official Cuban

We led a Second Line in true New Orleans fashion and...

We started our lives together.

Happy Four years to my wonderful husband who is more supportive than I could ever imagine.
