Saw it, Pinned it, Did it: {wedding show booth}

About mid 2012 I really thought about doing a wedding show – you know a whole booth setup and all that jazz. I knew I did not want to show at one of the larger ones that spanned over 2 days because well…it is WAY too many people for me so I thought about doing one of the smaller shows to try and get my name out there a little more. I knew about the Dreams Wedding Showcase, which has about 120 vendors, and it was close to home so I bit the bullet and put my money down for a booth spot.

I started ordering prints, sample albums and new marketing materials and got to work. I started pinning booth ideas to help getting my creative fuel going.

After deciding that I did not want to use the standard black pipe and drape background I consulted my father-in-law who just happens to be a home builder….thank you in-laws! I sent over my ideas via pinterest and he quickly drew up some plans with dimensions and all that jazz.  We ended up deciding that hinging doors together would work the best!

B and I headed to Austin the week before to help get the wall assembled and and do a rough layout of photos. We ended up using 5 doors hinged together to mimick the ole science fair display boards.

After hinging and screwing the right sides together my booth was born, we just had to get it back to Houston.

FYI a Nissan Pathfinder is not large enough to hold doors. We had to strap them to the roof, which had us both nervous as hell.

I had to do the painting when I got home so the Monday before the show I headed to Home Depot and found the perfect color, came home and got to painting.

On Thursday after both sides were painted I started laying out how where I wanted all my prints to be mounted

After what I thought was a good layout I waited for Sunday. We carted the doors to the convention center bright and early and hubs and another friend carried my doors in and it was quite easy to pin them all together, and voila I had a booth!

This was before I had added my sign and Fleur de Lis...you can see the layout changed from my original plan

The details.

 Don't I look proud?

I am so glad that I went with a flat panel wall instead of trying to use the curtains, I think it gave it a much cleaner look and was more inviting. I am hoping I got some good leads too!
how do you think I did?

Happy Thursday!

Truth be told, I'm lion

Linking up with Sar today – I have played this game before and always thought it was fun.

Here goes – 2 truths and 1 lie...

1. My first roommate in college had a warrant put out for my arrest.

2. I was a cheerleader.

3. I have never gotten a speeding ticket.

Which is which???

Still thinking?

Oh Happy Tuesday!

Made your choice???

1.     Truth – Yep my freshman year college roommate had a warrant put out for my arrest. Sort of. She worked for the on campus security and had her on campus rent a cop friend write me a ticket that I was parked in handicapped and it mysteriously never got put on my car. I got back from Christmas break and I check my mail and there is a warrant for an unpaid ticket. Needless to say it was dropped. She also moved out.

2.     Truth – Confirmed. I was a cheerleader. At my private school in 7th and 8th grade, it was a small school, I needed more after school activity, and it was another day I did not have to wear my uniform. Although I had a pretty wicked toe touch if I do say so myself.

3.     Lie – LIE LIE, LIE. I cannot even count how many speeding tickets I have had. My first one was at 19 leaving a club, another right after that, a couple when I was 21, another when I was 22, and 2 more after that…I think….although **knock on wood** I have not had one in 5-6 years.

Did you get them right??

Happy Valentine's Day my little lovebirds!

Here to share with you my most adorable swap goodies that I received from Leisha

I love mail, minus bills of course! Any time I order something and I KNOW it is at the house I am like a little kid on Christmas Eve so I was excited to participate in this swap hosted by Savanah and Ashlee!

Leisha and I exchanged a couple e-mails back and forth one being our favorite candy and I was super excited to find some yummy goodies in my package!

How ah-freaking-dorable are those cards?? I cannot wait to use them! Also included in my package was some of my favorite candies and an adorable pair of socks!

Here are all of my goodies - not gonna lie I have not even torn into the candy yet, it is coming with me to work so I can snack on them there

Thanks Leisha for my goodies - Happy Valentine's Day!

Happies…
Hubs brought me home Orange Leaf Froyo – so yum

I have ordered a few large prints for my booth for the bridal show, including this beauty

Super pumped that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo comes on on Sunday – no judgies!

I get to go to a work golf tournament on Monday instead of go to the office

My new iMac may be getting purchased soon! Skinny screen of pretties!

I feel like my shoulder is finally on the mend!

I also got my goodies from Leisha from our Valentine's Day swap, super cute, can't wait to share!

Crappies…
Traffic this week was horrendous – even on Friday

Apparently the Narovirus (at least that is what I am diagnosing myself with) hit me and I was out sick on Tuesday, I finally felt normal on Thursday

Although I get to go to said golf tournament, it is supposed to rain

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, hoping I get both photo sessions in tomorrow before the rain!
