The Shutter Love Tuesday theme for the week at Trendy Treehouse is all about your favorite things. I might love fleur de lis, but I decided to share something that my husband and I both love, which is baseball. My new job offered us the company tickets for the game this past weekend, and of course I brought the camera....we were 14 rows from the field how could I not? After a great win by the Astros, we were heading back to the car and I really wanted a photo of the park sign lit up. So here it is

TMMAPC - Selfie
Over at Linkie Lueville the photo challenge is to take a self portrait. I initially did not have a photo for this challenge, but was going through the photos from my dad's birthday and came across this shot. I think it is a different way to take a self portrait. It might be a stretch, but I like it, and I love a glass of wine as well!

The Paper Mama - Orange
Knock, knock!
Who's there?
Banana. Knock, knock!
Who's there?
Banana. Knock, knock!
Who's there?
Banana. Knock, knock!
Who's there?
Orange.
Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn't say "banana"?
This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the theme at The Paper Mama's photo challenge. The photos must contain your child, well the closest thing I have to a child is our cat Bentley and our nephew Evan. So I hope Evan counts, either way I love sharing photos of him! This photo was taken in the backyard of my parents neighbors house. They are big Longhorn fans and Evan was enamored with the UT pinwheel.

Happy Friday
So I follow a few blogs that also do this "Five Question Friday," thing over at My Little Life, so I thought I would play along this week!
ONE. Have you ever visited another country?
Yes, I went to Barcelona to visit family after I graduated High School, it was an awesome experience and a beautiful city, have been to Cozumel, and also to the Dominican Republic!
Pre Fancy Camera...but still Punta Cana is GORGEOUS
TWO. Where is the strangest place you have ever been?
I had to think about this one, but I remember in high school my friend Dallas and I went to visit our friend that moved to Atlanta, TX it was the smallest town I had ever been too, I actually just googled it, it has under 6,000 people that live there. Our friend Jenn said the high school had this huge rabbit statue in front of the HS that had huge buck teeth - it was true it was there. Most random trip ever.
THREE. What is your favorite season?
As much as I hate the humidity here in Houston, I love everything about Summer - the rivers, lakes, and pools
FOUR. What one song will always cheer you up?
Walkin' on Sunshine or Footloose...always
FIVE. What Disney character do you resemble most?

Black & White Wednesday - Grillin'
This week for black and white Wednesday over at The Long Road to China I decided to submit another photo I might use for the August 2010 Photo Challenge. I had an idea for one of the other themes and I was shooting that outside. I forgot that I did not have a photo for the "masculine" theme. I saw the {sad looking} grill we own, and thought of my husband. He absolutely LOVES to grill, and he says grilling is more manly with a beer in hand, so I came up with this idea. I messed around with it in color but not sure if I am sold on it - what do you think? Black and white or color!? Or should I try a different photo all together? Anyway, here is my black and white entry, hope you all are having a fantastic week, I am at week #2 at my new job and it is fantastic so far!

Shutter Love Tuesday - Vacation
Summer is winding down and Shutter Love Tuesday's at Trendy Treehouse theme is "vacation." We did not really take any vacations this summer, just to the river...so the photo I am submitting is another one from our Colorado vacation in January. We really wanted to build a snow man, because hey we live in Texas we will never have the chance to so that here. So we tried our hardest to make one, this was the best we could do...so meet Blouns, our Steamboat snow man! ...oh and yes that is a hot dog we used for his mouth...we had limited resources!!
