Black & White Wednesday - Puppy Love

Ok so I thought I was going to pre-write some blogs this past weekend to post while I was out of town this week for work...but yeah nope that did not happen. But, I DO have a black and white photo to share for Black and White Wednesday. I am actually going to share another puppy photo that I took at Thanksgiving. I am trying to edit these and get them to my husbands cousin so you might see a few more posted.

I am hoping that while in Baton Rouge this week I get some photos other than the ones at our convention and reception - we are staying next to the gorgeous capital building, and I have a nice river view. I will definitely have some photos from my quick family visit this weekend in New Orleans, so I will be sharing some new photos soon! Until then, feast your eyes on this sweet face

Also, if my fellow black and white participants don't see me linked up could ya link me up? Your the bestest!

Scavenger Hunt - I'm on a Roll

What...THREE weeks in a row??? I have really enjoyed doing the Scavenger Hunt Sundays and I really love seeing others interpretations of the various themes. Here is what I came up for this weeks themes.

1. Black & White - If you have followed my blog, you know I love black and white photos. This is not my best one, but how can you resist a cute little face like that? This is my husbands cousins dog - Suki. She loves to travel in her little bag, and is a super sweet puppy. I have a bunch of photos of both of her puppies, and I know she is excited to see the rest!

2. I Ate This - We spent Thanksgiving at my husbands parents house and we enjoyed a TON of food. I could not pick just 1 photo, so I made a collage!

3. Historic - I am pulling this one from the photos I submitted for my photo hunt challenge. I used this for my "vintage" shot. This is an old red ryder wagon that my husbands parents have
Emily - vintage

4. Off-Center - I took this on Thanksgiving as the boy were playing a game of washers. No real story behind it, but I am trying to take more still life photos, and branch out the creativeness. I actually think this is my favorite this week.

5. The End - I had to think about what I was going to use for this, and had a few ideas. We put up our Christmas tree and I was hoping there was an ornament from 1999. My idea was that 1999 was the "end" of the millennium, which I think works for this theme. Every year my husbands parents get him an ornament that represents something significant that happened that year. So his favorite basketball team won the national championship in 1999, so thus the Spurs ornament.

Show me Happy!

I don’t think I have submitted anything for black and white Wednesday in a few weeks so I am excited to show one off this week. This was taken at my sisters house about 2 weeks ago, those of you that stop by probably know by now that this is my {adorable} nephew Evan. My sister and brother in law have taught him to do different “reactions” or “emotions.” So we say “Show me Happy!” and this is a version of what happens. I had a hilarious photo of his “Show me…Huh, Do what??” face but it turned out all orange and grainy – maybe I will share it just for fun later. He also does a great version of “Show me sad,” “Show me surprised!” and “Show me shy.”

And, Today marks exactly one month until my birthday, which means its one month and 1 day until Christmas! Like you needed a reminder right?

Shutter Loves Fall

The theme for Shutter Love Tuesday is “fall” this week, and I really didn’t think I had anything to submit. Living in Texas you don’t really have the opportunity to see the leaves change or anything like that – we really only have 2 seasons….maybe half of a winter. It was almost 80 degrees here yesterday, and there has been more than 1 Christmas where it was totally appropriate to wear shorts. I do hate the cold, and I would rather have a hot summer day that a cold one, but I would like to see more seasons here, oh well. I will put up with 2 seasons over days and days of snow! I think I might have stretched it a tad on this theme – I am showing you a photo from that October wedding. I figured fall is a very popular time to get married so why not. I actually wanted to get married in the fall, but the venue and church we (I) wanted didn’t have the same date available so we settled for January!

Bentley's Eyes

The Paper Mama's theme this week is "eyes," so I decided to share another photo from Bentley's playtime in the sheets. He gets these random spurts of energy at night where he starts running like crazy around the house. It is definitely entertaining - just not when we are trying to sleep.

I am also sharing this photo for Touch-Up Tuesday. I have not submitted a photo for this in a long time, but I said I wanted to start doing more challenges on a more consistent basis, so here ya go!

I cannot remember the steps I used for this, but I know I cropped some and used the Totally Rad Actions Lights On! Adjusted that some, sharpened and adjusted levels a tad….but I know there were a few other steps…

I Heart Faces - Paper

I did not think I had a photo to share for the I Heart Faces "paper" theme this week – until I went through my flickr account. I have shared this image before. This is my good friend’s son Brady on July 4th. He was patiently waiting for the fireworks to start so to pass the time he was playing with the 3D glasses and struck this rather cute pose for the camera.

Scavenger Hunt - Entries

Two weeks in a row for Scavenger Hunt Sunday? Yep, I am pretty proud of myself!

1. View from the Top - Bentley's Head. I shared this photo below, but I think it works for this theme, and I like sharing more photos of our most awesome fur baby.

2. Something Hot - Our Gas Stove. I had no idea what to do for this, I had a few ideas for this but still could not decide. I like how the fire came out in this shot.

3. Something Cold - Blue Bell Ice Cream. If you have not had it, or it's not available in your state, you are missing out! They have year round flavors, and then their rotational ones. This is a rotational flavor - Snickerdoodle - SO good!! The Blue Bell factory is located less than 2 hours away from us, and I have yet to go take the tour - it definitely on my list of things to do soon.
cold

4. Electonic - 2 things I would be lost without. My iPhone and the laptop.
electric

5. Sparkle - This was another one that I was kind of stumped on, and I wanted to take a photo of something other than my wedding ring. I forgot about my business card holder - fleur de li, and it sparkles...good combo!

Before and After - Daydream

I wanted to get this post up sooner, but it has been busy at work and I was not home last night. Better late than never! I am submitting this shot for my before and after over at Pixel Perfect, and for my "Daydream" shot at Faith's Simplicity blog. I had a couple other photos in the running for this theme, but I definitely think that Bentley is "daydreaming" about yummy treats in this shot. He actually tucked himself under the sheet, he was playing. I walked in and saw him squirming around underneath, and I went to grab the camera.

Shutter Love Tuesday - Happy Birthday!

Shutter Love Tuesday is all about birthdays this week. So I thought I would share a photo from Evan's 2nd birthday. I have shared a couple of them already, and not sure if I shared this one or not. I love the look on his face, it totally says "I am really diggin' this cupcake and all, but that ice-cream looks mighty tasty!"
